After 3 months of work, I’m pleased to have completed Andika!, a set of tools to allow Swahili to be written in Arabic script, with converters to turn this into Roman script and vice versa. Not least, it provides a way to digitise Swahili manuscripts so that they can be printed attractively, and so that their contents are available for research using computational linguistic methods.
